In 2018, Alex Cooper created and launched the hit podcast “Call Her Daddy.” Since the podcast’s release six years ago, Cooper has rebranded her career from someone giving risqué advice to the internet’s best friend.

Cooper has transformed her brand into a safe space for followers — whether that is organizing events with tons of promotions, allowing fans to reach her through social media or bringing guests onto her podcast who are making an impact in the world.

A social media powerhouse

Cooper uses her social media posts as channels for storytelling and audience engagement.

She founded the Unwell Network, an agency and platform for creators, such as Alix Earle and Madeline Argy, to host podcasts and events.

Through the Unwell Network’s social media platforms, fans can share their questions or concerns, engage in conversations initiated by the platforms’ admins and interact directly in the comments or via direct messages. Both Cooper and other creators actively participate, fostering a dynamic and inclusive dialogue with their audience.

Cooper includes her fans in her thought process, showing that it is possible for celebrities and fans to have genuine relationships with their supporters.

Building her brand through events

Cooper is known for hosting an event for the ages. In the past year, Unwell has held pop-up events at SXSW, Fenway Park and the Hamptons.

These pop-ups are full of collaborations with other brands, free products and celebrity spottings and provide her a chance to give back to the fans who support her.

While these events are great public relations opportunities for Cooper and her companies, she is actively engaging with her fanbase and curating events to their interests.

Collaborations are key

If hosting parties and running a network weren’t enough, Cooper still remains true to what got her started — “Call Her Daddy.”

Cooper wants to make a big name for herself, by bringing on guests to talk about what matters. In the past year, Cooper has hosted Kamala Harris, Heidi Klum, Anna Kendrick and more.

Though Cooper is expanding her horizons by discussing deeper and more meaningful topics, she still ensures that her suggestive and interesting stories are brought to life.

Cooper also has made her way into mainstream media by collaborating with Peacock as a host for the 2024 Paris Olympics. She was able to involve her fans who weren’t necessarily following sports and thus tapped a new audience for the Olympic games.

Cooper proved that risqué was worth the reward and has now become a best friend to all digitally and experientially.
