Background

Fifth Street Communications® (FSC) is a community-oriented, student-staffed public relations agency run out of Anderson University in Anderson, Ind. Since 2008, the agency has been upheld by the mission and values of AU. FSC provides AU students studying public relations an opportunity to put into practice the concepts learned in the classroom. It also provides central Indiana not-for-profit and government organizations with quality and affordable public relations support.

The FSC director and account managers work directly with clients to help establish brands, create content, interact with the community and design web pages. FSC provides one-on-one assistance to clients to ensure consistent and quality work.

FSC has helped many clients over the years from different industries including not-for-profit, government, entertainment and education. Some clients FSC has had the privilege of working with are Anderson University, Children of Promise, the movie “Blue Like Jazz” and the Allen County Building Department. Members of the small agency focus on building a strong community and reaching out to the local county.

The firm’s most successful client relationship is with Anderson University Communications and Community Relations. We have truly created a thriving relationship with this client. Our main responsibility with the university is to produce feature articles for the Anderson University website. We work as a powerful content generation tool, developing student, faculty and alumni features, along with other AU news. There are so many things happening on this campus, it’s really cool that we can take the information we learn about students, faculty and staff everyday and create these articles to share with everyone. We have had a outstanding five year relationship with the university and are so happy to continue our work with them.

As a PRSSA-accredited firm, FSC upholds all PRSA core values and ethical guidelines. This ethical foundation gives associates the basis for how we conduct ourselves throughout our time working with FSC. The firm’s work has been spotlighted for excellence and has been honored with several awards, including “Best in Show” by the Hoosier PRSA.
