As we obviously know by now, COVID-19 impacted the world in a way we would have never imagined. Our personal and work lives were changed overnight, and it felt as if the nightmare would never end. For the public relations industry specifically, the impact of the pandemic on many of us has been significant. Even with this fact, the public relations field is strong and adaptable. We have learned that it is important to look beyond the economic impact of COVID-19 and more toward the rebuilding of the powerful industry we are.

Luckily, the light at the end of the tunnel came into play when the first two-dose vaccine was announced. With many people getting the vaccine, companies have been using different incentives to promote positivity within their brand, therefore gaining the attention of consumers. This strategy not only increases production in our work but is also beneficial within our personal lives. At this point, any small positive action could make or break our day.

Here are three of the many companies that have incorporated a gift for those who have taken the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Be sweet to your community”
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is finding a way to be sweet to the community as the U.S. continues to give out COVID-19 vaccinations. Included in this promotion is a free Original Glazed doughnut when you show proof of receiving at least one of the two shots of the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine or one shot of the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. Krispy Kreme started this giveaway on Monday, March 22, and it will last for the whole year.

Back to the movie theaters
Cleveland Cinemas, which operates Chagrin Cinemas in Ohio, is offering customers a free box of popcorn with any purchase when they show their vaccination cards. The offer is available through April 30. This promotion could start a chain reaction for other movie theaters that are now open, so it is up to you to be aware of such opportunities in your home state.

All around the world
While U.S. companies have taken steps to incorporate promotions with the vaccines, so has the city of Dubai. Restaurants in the tourist city of the United Arab Emirates have begun to offer a unique incentive to those who have been vaccinated. This promotion was put into play to keep the dining business afloat in Dubai, offering a 10% discount to residents who have been given the first dose of the vaccine and 20% for those who have had both doses. This incentive is an effective strategy for the tourist community and to motivate others to get the vaccine.

Because of the strong and adaptable field of public relations, these promotions are influencing positive reactions from visitors and customers all over the world. Despite COVID-19 knocking many industries off their feet, businesses have developed newfound incentives that benefit their customers.

All in all, companies are developing strategic marketing plans to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations with a little positivity in the mix that sparks growth within these companies. So, if you have your vaccine, be on the lookout for sweet treats and discounts!
