Chipotle Meets Makeup — A Seemingly Unlikely Duo

Food and makeup may seem like an uncommon duo, and usually, they would be. However, Chipotle Mexican Grill and e.l.f. Cosmetics have partnered to create a colorful limited-edition eye-shadow palette, Make It Hot lip gloss and Extra Guac face sponge. The palette launched on March 9 and features the rich colors typically seen in the Chipotle food assembly line.
Chipotle took to Twitter on March 4 to post a photo portraying the new palette next to its infamous burrito. Chipotle is dropping all new products nearly a year after the first e.lf. Cosmetics and Chipotle collaboration. The pinned tweet received over 9,000 likes before 5 p.m., and according to Chipotle’s vice president of digital marketing, the previous kit sold out in under four minutes. The latest fast-food and makeup collaboration is an expected hit.
During the pandemic, people have been out-of-office and looking for a hobby, so makeup has become immensely popular. Many online influencers have taken advantage of the trending hobby by sharing their beauty and skincare routines on their social platforms.
This is not the first time Chipotle has strayed away from the food industry. Chipotle Goods is an original apparel and accessory line that focuses on creating responsibly sourced products, just like the ingredients in Chipotle’s kitchens.
