This month, Clare Crawley was announced as “The Bachelor” franchise’s newest Bachelorette. Unlike previous Bachelorettes, Crawley was not a contestant on the most recent season of “The Bachelor.”

Despite not being a recent contestant, Crawley was one of the final two contestants on Season 18, Juan Pablo Galavis’ season of “The Bachelor.” After facing rejection at the final rose ceremony, Crawley later appeared on “The Bachelor in Paradise” Seasons 1 and 2, as well as “The Bachelor Winter Games” in 2018.

According to a Cheat Sheet article, “Her last chance at finding love came during ‘The Bachelor Winter Games.’ Benoit Beauséjour-Savard proposed to her on stage during the reunion special on February 22, 2018. Crawley accepted the proposal, but the relationship did not last. The pair split on April 6, 2018. She’s back looking for love one last time.”

Now that you know her extensive past with “The Bachelor” franchise, let’s dive into why she is actually a good choice for “The Bachelorette.”

Staying on brand
If you know “The Bachelor,” you know that the brand is about finding true love. After Pilot Pete’s wishy-washy season, the franchise is wise to go back to its roots. According to a Refinery29 article, “If there’s one thing we learned from Clare’s announcement interview on ‘Good Morning America’ on Monday morning, this girl knows what she wants.”

A serious lead who knows what she wants is great for “The Bachelor” brand. Rather than a season of 20-somethings whose intentions are questionable, a lead who is ready for marriage and true love is refreshing.

Hopefully, Crawley will bring authentic romance back to the show.

Sharing a great story

As mentioned previously, Crawley has a rich history with “The Bachelor” franchise. After four failed attempts at love, being the Bachelorette could finally be her chance to find a lasting relationship.

Having a background with the franchise allows the audience to invest in her story more than ever. After Crawley was heartbroken on Galavis’ season, who is notoriously known as the worst Bachelor, fans will be more invested in seeing her finally find the love she deserves.

Moving away from influencer culture
Today, “The Bachelor” seems to be a launching pad for those who are looking to become Instagram influencers. Not only is Crawley 38 years old, but she also already has a successful career as a hairstylist.

Crawley will likely look for a serious man who is equally as career-focused, and who is not just looking for Instagram fame.

Despite controversy due to her age, Crawley is a logical and unexpected pick for The Bachelor franchise. With hopes of getting back to the basics of love, her season will be refreshing for loyal Bachelor fans.
