PRowl Public Relations is Temple University’s first and only student-run PR firm. Our mission is threefold: to provide clients with comprehensive PR strategies and solutions; to offer Temple Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) members the opportunity to apply their knowledge and gain experience beyond the classroom; and to build credibility while forming lasting student-client relationships. PRowl Public Relations became nationally affiliated through PRSSA in the spring of 2012.

At PRowl Public Relations, the client comes first. Planning and strategy are our first priorities when designing a campaign. Each client is provided with an account team composed of enthusiastic PR majors who are ready to put in the time and effort to ensure the best possible results.

At PRowl Public Relations, students are given opportunities to develop their strategic thinking skills and gain tactical practice. Members create and execute public relations campaigns, form valuable relationships with professionals in the Philadelphia area, apply their classroom knowledge to a real-world setting, become part of an interactive communications process and prepare for life beyond graduation. PRowl Public Relations’ staff members are hired based on their enthusiasm, drive and dedication to the firm. Our members know that their experience with PRowl Public Relations will be indispensable in their futures as PR professionals.

Students also benefit from various professional development and industry workshops that are provided for them through PRowl Public Relations during the year. Students are encouraged to participate in Temple PRSSA’s mentorship program that provides professional guidance throughout their college career. In addition, PRowl Public Relations introduced a new program this fall called “PRowl Pals” that seeks to heighten relationships and bonds within the firm for future networking opportunities.

PRowl members were extremely lucky this fall when PRSSA National Conference was held in our backyard. The organization was able to pay for 20 out of our 34 member staff to attend.

“For many of us, this was our first time interacting with professionals within the field,” Sutton said. “Being exposed to professional development sessions at such a young age, I feel that we gained an advantage over other students who will not have this opportunity during their college career.”
